READ TALK PLAY

Every Day

Read Talk Play is a successful initiative in American Falls and Pocatello-Chubbuck that encourages parents to read, talk, and play with their children every day. It is designed to help parents help their children develop communication skills, relational skills, emotional skills, and the vocabulary to help them be successful in school and, most importantly, in life.

RTP Kits

We have put together Read Talk Play "Kits" that parents can rent, for free, from several locations around Southeastern Idaho. Each kit, which is designed for pre-kindergarten children ages 3-5, has everything parents need to read, talk, and play with their early learner.

RTP Kits are available to check out at:

Business Partners & Parent Resources

Business Partners

The Read.Talk.Play. initiative seeks to engage businesses as partners to promote early childhood literacy and family engagement. Partnership opportunities include:
  1. Displaying a Read.Talk.Play. window cling at their establishment, signaling support for the initiative and its goals.
  2. Participating in designated days for wearing RTP shirts, fostering community awareness and solidarity. In American Falls, this occurs on Wednesdays, while in Pocatello/Chubbuck, it's on Thursdays.
  3. Sponsoring a preschooler for a year, contributing to their educational journey. The sponsorship costs $1,100 in American Falls and $2,200 in Pocatello/Chubbuck, providing vital resources for children in need.
  4. Sponsoring a Read.Talk.Play. Family Engagement event or activity, demonstrating commitment to fostering literacy and family involvement within the community.
These partnership opportunities not only benefit businesses by showcasing their commitment to community involvement but also contribute significantly to the educational development and well-being of children and families in the region.
