United Way of Southeastern Idaho Receives $51,700 from the Farm Bureau Insurance of Idaho to Support Local Community

POCATELLO, ID, November 21, 2024– In a remarkable show of community support, the Farm Bureau Insurance of Idaho presented a ceremonial check for $51,700 to United Way of Southeastern Idaho. The event took place at the state office in Pocatello, Idaho, where employees and partners gathered to celebrate this generous contribution.

Todd Argall, CEO of the Farm Bureau Insurance of Idaho, opened the event with heartfelt words of appreciation, saying, “As a reflection with Thanksgiving coming up, I feel very blessed to be part of this great organization of the Farm Bureau family and working with such great business partners like the United Way. Part of that blessing is understanding the generosity that you have demonstrated through all your activities in this campaign to raise money to give back to our community, both in Pocatello and even from our agents at the Fall rally. It was really powerful to be part of that. And it's a reflection of you—the kind of people you are, employees and agents in your openness, not only to delivering and fulfilling our mission to the people of Idaho and Washington from an insurance point of view but also just having the opportunity, taking the time, and being thoughtful to give back to the communities we are all a part of to help make our community stronger.”

The commitment from the Farm Bureau Insurance of Idaho to the community is evident in its long-standing partnership with United Way, a collaboration that has consistently driven positive change across Southeastern Idaho. Todd continued to emphasize the power of working together, stating “We're all in this together, and if we continue to have this mindset of this collective working together, feeling and atmosphere and mindset, we can make huge differences in our community.”

The $51,700 donation will support organizations in Southeastern Idaho that provide critical resources to families in need, helping to bridge the gap for those struggling to make ends meet.

Wendi Ames, Director of Donor and Community Engagement at United Way, reflected on the impact of these contributions. “Last year, we were able to help 46,000 households. Your generosity brings a bit more hope and security to every family we reach.” Wendi continued to highlight the challenges faced by A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households, who make up 44% of the community in Idaho, “When we think about the 44% of A.L.I.C.E. households in our community who are struggling to make it month to month, donations like this make a significant impact. They help families with essentials, whether it is paying a utility bill or sending a child to preschool. We are thankful to the Farm Bureau Insurance of Idaho for their generosity and for everyone we work with who make a difference in our community.”

Shantay Bloxham, CEO of United Way of Southeastern Idaho, also shared her gratitude, focusing on the meaningful difference these partnerships make during the holiday season and beyond. “Every day at United Way of Southeast Idaho, working alongside our community partners is the best. As we approach this time of year, we know there will be challenges ahead. But by pooling our resources and funds, families won’t have to worry about waking up on Christmas morning without presents or having a Thanksgiving meal. Together, we are making that happen for our nonprofit partners. It truly is amazing what happens when we stand shoulder to shoulder to create a better community.”

This donation is a testament to the power of community collaboration. United Way of Southeastern Idaho is deeply grateful to the Farm Bureau Insurance of Idaho for their unwavering support and to all the partners who come together to make a lasting impact. Through powerful partnerships, United Way is helping elevate individuals in need and building a community that thrives together.
